Day 21-23

So we are now in our first recovery week. I am really excited that we get to start doing new exercises. I could definitely tell my body was starting to adapt to the phase 1 routine. I am definitely getting stronger and can feel my balance improving. I bought a couple of 5lb weights to use with my lunges and squats to get some extra resistance, and I bought a heart rate monitor/calorie counter watch on ebay today so I can see if I am pushing myself hard enough or not.

The most amazing thing happened yesterday! I went to the department store to buy a new pair of jeans. The ones I had were getting old and were starting to become really loose, to the point where I could pull them off without unbuttoning them. The ones I had were a size 11, which is what I have been wearing for the past year or so, I usually wear either an 11 or a stretchy 9. So I was expecting to pick up a pair of normal size 9 jeans. I brought a pair into the dressing room and tried them on. HUGE gap in the back and they still felt too loose. I thought there is NO way I can fit into a size 7, but GUESS WHAT!?! I tried on a pair of 7s and they fit great. A little tiny bit tight but I figured I will be losing some more in the coming weeks anyway, so I bought them! I was beside myself that I actually was able to get them on much less button and zip them and have them actually fit me! I have not worn a size 7 in probably about 7 years, since I was in high school! If I doubted the power of P90X before, this experience made me a believer!

We had our first round of Core Synergistics today and it's funny how introducing new moves takes me right back to how I felt in the beginning of P90X, uncoordinated and looking like I have no control over my body. It was interesting to try all these different moves that I have never seen or heard of before...Superman Bananas? I mean seriously! I am looking forward to phase 2 and our extra serving of carbs. I have to say I have been missing pasta and bread in my diet. We are still eating healthy and pumping in the protein. People have been amazed at the lean muscle I have been building! I can't believe we are already almost a third of the way done P90X. I will be posting our 30 day pictures this weekend! Woo hoo!
